Schecter Diamond-P Custom Active-5

Though I'm not a fan of active basses, that looks like a pretty nice bass with some great features. A lot of people here have much love for the Schecter basses, and many good things have been said about the passive Diamond P (which also has a P/H setup).

Certainly is a lot of knobs for a P with that 3-band EQ! :D I'll bet it's really bright and growly with those EMGs.

I'm thinking about picking up this bass, looks like Schecter's more higher end basses. :hyper:

Anyone cares to share their experience with it?

One of my First Five string Basses was a Omen 5, I still play it. I like the Bass and the sound it puts out. I added Some rotosound 66 Strings. One thing I have found out is that Several String manufactures fail to make a B string that matches up to the E String. I say Go For It on The Schecter

I tried out a passive Diamond P4 (couldn't find a 5). It was OK, but my Studio 5 was head and shoulders "better", at least as far as "quality feel" goes. Didn't LOVE the pre/EMG's in the Studio 5 (soapbars), but it played like a dream. It'd be interesting to compare the Schecter P side by side w a Fender, especially tone wise!!!??? Can you bypass the EQ and run it passive as well?

If its anything like the passive version, it's a quality bass that far exceeds its price tag. The passive Schecter P5 is the best five string P-style bass for under $1000. IMO of course.

I have a problem with Schecter's website. It's been stated before that the design of the site is geared towards attracting the younger metal head buyer, but the erroneous info is irritating. It says (paraphrased) the neck has graphite rods that compliment the mahogany body, yet the product specs claim an alder body.

Come on Schecter. Stop being dummies.:hmm:

Well they do have an AX7 guitar hero planted all over the site. So yeah its pretty lame.

I went to try the Stiletto Studio 6, they didn't have a 5 string version. The action was nice although I felt as if I was playing bass for the first time... the fretboard is so wide. Other than that I like it... might just go with a Studio 5.
