Schecter Elite 4 vs Schecter Studio 4

Yes: I've currently got a Schecter Stiletto Extreme 4 (which I like very much), but I'm looking to upgrade.

One of the wires came off in the middle of a show that we were doing, and I ended up borrowing someones SRX 590 (something like that anyway...:p) Ibanez and the sustain, playability and 3 band eq blew the Extreme away.

So after a bit of research and watching on Youtube vids, it looks like the best thing for what I'd like would be to go for either an Elite or a Studio. The Elite wins out on looks, but only has two band eq, whereas the Studio has 3 band eq (but not quite the same colour schemes, although there's a black one that looks pretty nice). They both have straight through necks, which is what I'm looking for too.

And after some thought, I decided Schecter was probably the way to go as well: basically I'm looking for an improved Extreme 4, so I guess the Elite or the Studio would be the logical way to go.

They seem to be very good basses in any case, these Schecters.

Thanks guys.

I'm starting to warm to the Elite for its' looks and after hearing a couple of times on Youtube. But having said that, 3 band eq is great to have onboard the bass (that amp can be so near yet sooooo far away...). Like the idea of controllable mids on the instrument.

Could always just get them both... :-)

Great idea to head to the shop and try them out, but where I live it's a smaller town so the amount of gear coming through here tends to be a bit the same (smaller). So I'm a pretty big fan of these Youtube bass try-out vids!

Anyway, the search goes on...

Yeah I've tried both and I honestly don't know which I would pick. The studio sounds great and has the 3 band eq but I think my Elite stands on par with it in terms of sound. Even with the 2 band eq I can get several different sounds out of it.

Thanks again for all the input. Re the thread link: I did try dialling up an existing thread using the search function but alas to no avail, so much appreciated there. Very helpful.

Well it seems like these two are pretty similar then apart from the 3 band eq and the looks. I found on the Ibanez I was using the 3 band eq and the sustain were the main winners for me.

So we will see. Must admit that the looks of the Elite though do it for me, and the looks of the Studio don't, so it will probably end up being that. Looks had a lot to do with my amp selection as well too :p

Anyway, better go prac: gig tonight.

Peace.
