Looks to me like it has the BTS HZ System in it with 1 Master Volume and a Balance Control.
The Control closest to the neck looks like a Balance pot and should have a center detent. ???

Your photo didn't show up on my cell until 1:09 am when I woke up to tinkle and set my Alarm Clock on my Cell Phone, LOL.

NBD! I stumbled upon a 2015 mint Diamond J-Plus 5 for an excellent price. Couldn't resist. Got inspired by all the 'family pics' in this thread (@EdBo you know who you are ;) and told myself that although my Hellraiser Extreme with a P5 and a TW and my Apocalypse with 3-way switchable humbuckers give me all the sounds I want and more, I still 'need' a 35 inch 5-string with a more vintage single coil sound. Mind gymnastics aside, I bought it and love it. The craftsmanship is superb as aspected from the South Korean factory, the wood and finish are gorgeous and the neck is... well a Schecter neck. Hard to put down.

I had to have it modified though. The stock SD Quarterpound pu's lacked in the midrange to my taste, and sounded a bit to boomy, so after some research I went with the SD 67/70 vintage pu's. While my tech was at it, I also had to have the electronics changed. The stock configuration consisted of a master volume (push/pull out of phase), a 4-way rotary switch (neck, both in series, both parallel 50-50, bridge), 2-band SD preamp. Although I loved the series option, the problem was that with this configuration you couldn't fine-tune the volume of both pickups. I chose to go passive, inspired by the Apocalypse, with a master volume, a balance knob (a modern Bourns one with a center detent at 100/100), a 3-way rotary switch (parallel, series, mute) and a tone knob. I do like the result, these pu's give more midrange, but I'm still in the process of finding the sweet 'vintage' spot, balancing the pu's, the tone knob, my preamp, etc. I might throw some flats on it. Your suggestions are much appreciated. Below you see the bass with the new pickups and my 35 inch trio on the wall. Every (band) practice I grab a different one :)

Yes,the control next to neck,does have a center detent. I think the jack needs to be replaced I have one when I decide to replace. Would like to get it replaced before I sell.

My serial is W17100830. What are the odds of that! So they were made together. Small world. Don't know where it was originally purchased since I am buying used from a shop, but they might have shipped together to the same distributor or dealer.
Edit: Just saw you are in Scotland, I bought this in Jacksonville, FL USA. So probably did not leave the factory together. BTW, visited Edinburgh way back in 2000, loved it.

wow, definitely from the same litter even if they were separated soon after birth :D

Now we need to find W17100831, and they should meet ;)

It makes sense often world music will do runs of the same instrument on the same day for a certain manufacturer as switching around tooling etc for different layouts shapes etc slows down production time, world music makes instruments for many many guitar brannds so I would imagine they schedule certain models to be made on certain days in batches.

I think thats why On my model T my production number is much higher than your guys as at the end of the run they must reverse all the tooling and produce the lefties.
