Well I had a chance to my Diamond P 5 with a guitarist and drummer last night at a small jam. I have to say I was very impressed with how this bass really cut through the mix, but still had that Pbass thump. The controls are very sensitive, and it took me a few minutes to get the right combo. Pretty much half way on the tone, and 3/4 on the neck pup. Then I would adjust the bridge pup for the right amount of sizzle.
Next will be a live gig, but that won't be until October. So far I'm very impressed.
Heads up for the group I have my Diamond P5 listed in the classifieds:
a pic to get things started
My thanks to SMP for catching the post-count max in pt 2, and starting pt 3.
'96 s series w/ Wilkins LPB
I sold my Diamond P5 so I'm relinquishing my #276 back to the club.
Anyone play one of the Blackjack C-4s? Haven't seen any come through the local guitar stores nor seen any real reviews online.
My buddies' band is endorsers of Schecter and his bassist has an ATX 4-string. I asked about it and he says it kicks ass but not much more detail than that haha.
Here are a couple of pictures of my new Schecter C-5 Custom. This is the new model with the EMG pickups. I decided to replace my Ibanez BTB with something that had a slimmer neck. These weren't in the stores yet, so I took a chance when I ordered it from my local Schecter dealer. Now that I have it, I'm thrilled with the feel and sound of this bass. It has a much smoother tone that the BTB and the neck profile is exactly what I was looking for.
The pictures on the Schecter site don't do justice to the Transparent Red color. The real color is not as bright as their pictures show.
I just replaced the string retainer on my Diamond P 5 from a 2 string to a Hipshot 3 string. I'm not sure how necessary it was, but it just looks better.
That's gorgeous...is it an oiled finish?
That looks great! Worthy of an Iron Maiden tribute band!
It's a stained matte finish.
May not be as nice as some basses on here, but i like it
The cello behind is not a schecter
Thanks man , yeah exactly \m/\m/
How do you join this here club? I love my schecter!
I'll have a number for you in a day or so...right now, I'm away from the computer that has the membership record on it.
Need to get a pic of my new Stargazer 5 that I just picked up used for $250. Baby came early and I don't think they'd let me bring my bass to the NICU. I think he would heal faster with good music though.
