Schecter players?

CTF6-

i've had a stiletto studio 5 for about a year now.

upon receipt, the input jack and 1 control knob were loose. i corrected both these minor bugs myself.....since then
no other issues or problems, broad tonal palette is perfect for the hard/classic rock i'm using it for. looks great, tuning , intonation and neck adjustments are dead stable.

bargain price too. lotta bang for the buck.

I LOVE IT!

The BEST fretless I've owned was a Schecter. It was made in the USA and I bought it about 10 years ago from 48th St Custom Guitars in NYC for $1200 or so.

The bass was really retro, natural swamp ash body, unlined ebony fingerboard, tortoise shell guard, p/j passive p-ups, gold hardware, high note was e flat like a fender, unfinished neck, sat great in a mix. Everyone I knew raved about that bass.

I was just talking about it the other day when a friend and I were discussing the instruments we most regret selling.

If I found one today I would buy it immediately.

Got 2 of 'em - never been happier either! :bassist:

After playing about a year on a $150 ibanez, I picked up a Studio 5 locally for $625. I tried out some Musicman's and Waricks, which I really liked, but for $1500 I couldn't justify that price. Especially since the studio 5 felt really close. Maybe one day, when I have a real gig, I'll look at some higher end stuff. But for now, the Schecter's just fine.

I, too, have a Schecter Custom 4. Steve66, I concur!!! This bass is a very formidable alternative to a Music Man Stingray (single pickup)-for a lot less $$$! Amazing neck, too!

A Groove is a Terrible Thing to Waste!

My Diamond J has become my main "go to" bass. It is an excellent axe that, for its value, far surpasses any MIM Fender Jazz and, at halfd the price or less, equal to the better MIA Fenders I've tried

Fewer options than available with the Fenders but my Schecter Diamond J is a much better instrument IMHO.

I really dig it.

I'm probably buying a Hellraiser this weekend, been thinking about it for a week, checked it out yesterday, and I really liked it. I tried another Schecter while I was there, a custom 5just like the one Dood is playing above, and it was really sweet too. Decisions, decisions! They had the neck trussed down a tad too much on the custom and it buzzed just a bit, but that's easily remedied. Tone was great on both, maybe just a little better (for my tastes) on the custom. Who else is playing Schecter and what do you think?
