Schecter Stiletto Studio VS EBMM Stingray

I have a Stiletto Studio-6 and I love it. Good deep growl, nice bright highs. Great for smoother more melodic playing. Can't say I enjoy the slap tone on my Stiletto though, but I'm inclined to belive that it's my dead as dead can be strings.

I had a schecter. I loved the bass. 35" scale 5 string. It had a nice neck. But when I played it in a band setting it got buried. It got sold on ebay.

Yeah, I had a brand new Stiletto Elite-5, and it went back to GC because it got buried in a band mix - oddly enough, I still have a Hellraiser-4 that does just fine...

Did you understand the EQ of the classic ray?

You REALLY shouldn't turn those bass and treble knobs up to 100% unless you want to sound like your average nu-metal bass player.

Treble is cut and boost and I'd estimate it to be flat at about 40% up.

Bass is boost only or cut and boost (not sure) and I estimate it to be flat at +/-10 % opened up. This bass is capable of giving enormous bass boosts, which I don't like to hear myself.

I also have to disagree 100% with the original poster.

I've had 4 different Schecters and the IMHO the only way they can compare to the grunt and authority of a stock MM is after replacing their pickups and preamps. I also could never get comfortable with a Studio 5's balance issues.

But that's also just my opinion. Glad the OP found something he liked.
