I prefer my Epi Blackbird Nikki Sixx sig. Cheaper and built very well

I just got some Deep Sixx pickups for an Epiphone Goth Thunderbird I'm in the process of ungothing. Someone said the pickups are no different than the standard Epi T-bird pups but I thought they were closer to the Gibson ones soundwise.

I think the pickup configuration and headstock was a good move. The body shape isn't quite as cool as a t-bird, but the whole thing probably sounds and plays better, probably hangs alittle better too. The sunburst doesn't look too bad, though i think the center should be colored like the wings. I too thing the spector-birds were the coolest ones ever. The sunburst one.

This is exactly what I think, as well.
Ergonomically, probably better than the Tbird, but has ho-hum style.
I loved his Spectors too!

I've had an epi bird for a long time. Not bad, but it's not a gibson. I removed the controls, installed an on/off switch and filled in the other holes with puddy. I think the sound of a thunderbird is with both pups on anyway.

Just got a new sunburst model of this bass. Built really well, plays and sounds good right out of the box for pick style. First thing I did was remove the pickgaurd. It is a good looking instrument. The only thing to complain about is that it's a bit heavy. Im pretty impressed with the quality of everying. I seem to remember the gibson blackbird being lighter and the neck being thinner, but again, I think this one is built better. It's been awhile since I've seen a real gibson bird.

still ugly. no matter the colour, Nikki should've gone back to spector or at least go with ESP, that would've probably been cooler. No diss on anyone who likes the Schecter, i just dont fancy the slim down excuse of a thunderbird esque bass.
