Double Bass schertler stat-b

The Stat-B is sold with the 9-volt preamp with a level control. Lemur sells the set for $325--looks like it's gone up $60 since I last checked. The Stat-B has a nice round sound with none of the harshness of piezo pickups. It takes a little experimentation to find the right mounting location and it's best suited to basses with round (not oval) bridge holes so the element makes the best contact.

Don't want to spam but I've been meaning to post mine for sale--PM me if interested.

For all the people who purchased a Schertler Stat B and regret they didn't buy the vintage set (which has 2 pickups instead of 1): you can add a second Stat B pickup very easily to your existing setup. The two pickups of the vintage set are connected parallel to the pre-amp, so you can simply order a second pickup (without pre-amp) and get a cinch/rca Y connector (which you use to connect the two pickups together) and then connect that one to the amp. I double checked this with Schertler, and yesterday my second pickup arrived, and I connected them as described and can confirm it works. If you don't mind to void warranty and are handy with a soldering iron, you can solder the two wires together into one cinch/rca plug. (that's my plan)
The mounting bracket of the pickup's plug is glued to the rca/cinch connector, but with a sharp knife you can cut the glue, and remove the bracket from the plug...
Enjoy, Daniel
