Most children have no trouble answering this.

Most kids don't get it right, because there is no correct answer. The children lack the the foresight to realize that there is not enough information to answer the question. Instead they draw upon their narrow world view and limited life experience and jump to a conclusion.

So we can all agree that the question isn't as smart as it thinks it is. It's meant to be a critical thinking exercise for American elementary school students and the answer is supposed to be what I said.

But the real answer is that there's not enough information to answer the question. I thought I had the answer but learned throughout the day that the question is faulty. There's a lesson worth learning.
