score! unplanned NDB (again!)

def a good deal, but nothing will ever beat the 1998 fender J-bass I got at a yard sale for $40usd. The above P-bass fingerboard is both very dry and has some interesting grain patterning. I did oil it (after that pic was taken) and did a string change and setup (kids these days with their crazy low action lol). I don't care for the beige pickguard, but that's an easy fix, and the olympic white matches my wifes strats :) took it on tonight's gig, it's a fine player.

I thought it was surf green with a gold pickguard. Am I going colorblind?

What a fantastic find. A really nice lookin P...and a rumble to boot!
Sounds like someone thought they wanted to be a bass player, bought a nice bass, and then decided they didn't want to be a bass player.
I love when that happens...... ;)

the kid was actually a pretty good player but needed cash to buy another instrument. I always grill sellers to get a sense of if something is stolen or not, and I asked him why the low price, he just said that’s what he paid so he thought it was fair to sell for the same.

second time this year I've gone into town to get something and ended up coming home with another bass.
 well, at least you didn't bring home some sort of disease!

i think you just scored the deal of the century, OP! and that's a fine looking ax --- congratulations on your new instrument!

Nice,congrats.
See,instead of crying about the supply chain and the effects on the used market you should just find a deal :)

THIS.

I understand some new axes are delayed in shipping for any number of reasons, but there are still lots of basses out there, and as here, some terrific deals to be had on 'barely used' gear, my favorite shopping category.
