Do you think these new pickups may improve the ground hum? That's just a fact of life with single-coils of course but it seems rather worse on the SWB-1 than the other basses I had. Also, are the pickups only grounded within the control cavity? I looked under one of the individual bridges and didn't see any connection.

The SWB-1 pups on your bass are very quiet. So consequently you have to turn it up more. Consequently any hum is turned up too.

As I suspected.

One of those 'life isn't fair' things. Like: I have hearing loss and tinnitus, so I have to 'turn it up' but that aggravates the tinnitus!

Just a quick bit of news regarding the passive SWB-1. Due to feedback from customers we're putting slightly hotter pickups in the passive SWBs now (from this month).

Especially on my fretless SWB-1 (with black nylon strings) I feel the need for hotter pickups. Can you make me an offer for a set (or two) or tell me the type and where to order?

No worries! Appreciate the update. My general attitude is that I'd rather have something late and done right than on time and looking like a rushed job. Don't mistake my excitement for impatience. Can't wait too see how mine turns out!

Sadly out of commission with a neck issue until next month. Does he also have the specs for the rear body plate? Would be a nice touch for a little customization too.

Has anyone else had a problem with the bridge on the SWB-1?
I’m trying to sort out the intonation but the screws holding the bridge pieces down have domed heads preventing the sliding saddles from locating properly in the rails. Seems a strange thing to do.

These screws came with the bridges on our earlier runs. More recently we’ve started replacing these based on customer feedback.

I bought it privately a couple of days ago. The original buyer got it new with a Gator hard case and hasn’t touched it...I can ask him where he purchased it.

I was just going to say that if you'd purchased it new and you incurred any cost getting the screws changed I would cover your costs.
