Scott Whitley SWB-1

I've had Gretsch, Gibson, several Epiphone, and Ibanez short scales and I'm waiting anxiously to get my swb pro walnut. The biggest problem with short scales has been acoustic sound or lack of it. I like shorts because of i have quite small hands and they are easy to play. My favorite bass is Warwick Streamer Stage 1 and the swb should have very similar neck profile, very thin and slim fast neck. I can write a more thorough review once i get my hands on the swb! I hope it wont weight too much tho i use good leather straps. Also, i saw a picture of one walnut pro and i have to say it didnt look as pretty as the picture on the website so i hope the top on mine will be pretty. Btw, is the bridge height adjustable? I havent had single piece bridges

You don't need to worry about playability and lack of acoustic sound or somewhat. Of course, as always, you need to do some adjustements when you buy a new bass but once you find the right hight, neck-relief and nut-height etc. than you will love it.
You ordered the Pro and I think you get a very good sound with it. I have ordered passive basses (one fretless and one fretted). Unfortunate the pickups have very low output and a dull sound (my opinion). After I replaced the pickups with DiMarzio DP123BK Model J these basses blow everything away. They are rather heavy so you need good straps. Mine are 8,7lb and 9,3lb (3,95kg and 4,25kg). Same weight as my Fender Jazz bass.

I was going to get passives for extra reliability when gigging but read the same. I use preamp from my pedal board when using epi flying v (passive humbuckers) but it colors the tone quite much. The pro should have double voltage preamp so plenty of head room expected? Then I can just set up the preamp as booster etc when needed

Hmmmm, strange because of the words "now" and "from this month" you used in that post! Any idea when my bass will be shipped?(passive, Tobacco Burst) Can't wait to play on it!

A great example of how intention is not always the same thing as result :)

DM me with your order number for an ETA.

- Stephen

Did they give you an estimated shipping date?
I'm not in a hurry (I am such a liar) but I would like to have an idea when I will get my hands on it

No, and I didn't ask. I sent a question late on a Saturday night and Stephen replied 5 minutes later (I basically wanted to know how suitable it would be as a piccolo bass) and then ten minutes later I ordered one! I didn't want to hassle Stephen any further after such a speedy response at such an unsociable hour (and I'm a patient soul - for the most part...). :)
