Scott Whitley SWB-1

This is the one I have. It's the most comfortable strap I've ever had, and not a bad price either. I got it specifically for the SWB-1 because it is a little on the heavy side compared to other basses I've had. I don't even feel the weight with it.
I thought going over the top horn was a little weird at first, but it turns out to be kind of a non-issue for me, so that's what I do. Invalid Link Removed

That went straight to bookmark! Great price!

You can get a full history of this bass here

Basically the Brian Eastwood one was the original prototype.

Mr Chown,
I sent you a rather lengthy email about being excited about receiving a SWB Pro to middle USA BEFORE seeing this video. I now know my email could seem a little creepy because it reads like I lifted dialogue from the video! Still awaiting delivery, but soon I suspect. Now about a USA distributor...

I have an SWB-1 Passive in Natural Ash that I sent in error to a customer in the USA (I sent him a fretted instrument when he wanted fretless). So that I don't have to return to the UK is there anybody in the USA or Canada who would like it for $520 including delivery?

**CORRECTION - This bass is black.

what does it look like
how much does it weigh

I don't have the bass on me (as it is with the customer I shipped it to in error and it seems a bit cheeky to ask him to take photos of it for me)

Weight is usually between 7.8 and 8lbs. It varies from bass to bass. It's the ash natural finish. Like this.

**CORRECTION THIS BASS IS BLACK

These are super cool and that one is tempting, Stephen - my only issue is how long they play; I worked out recently that with the strap peg at 17 on a 30" bass, its nut is a further reach than that of a 34" scale with the strap peg at 12, by about 1.5" or so. My shoulder hates that these days. And I feel like it's making me miss out on some cool basses. Dangit.

I have the same problem. But I found the Ibanez SRF700 (which is btw 3,3kg and despite it's 34"), because of its design, as easy playable as my short scale bass.

yeah, I almost bought an Ibanez SR but a 5'2" frame with short arms and short arthritic fingers didn't give me much choice. Short scale or no scale for me if I intend to continue playing in my twilight years....lol

Just picked up the black one that was sitting in the States mentioned above. I had been considering ordering, but I’m admittedly impatient so the 8-10 week wait was causing pause. Thanks Stephan for helping me absolve the concern... can’t wait to get it!

I usually throw and d tuner on all my basses... can you tell me which one you used and if it fit in existing holes?
