How does the SBL paid sub compare to what is offered on the YouTube channel for absolute beginners looking for more hand technique, body posture etc?
I guess the question was more about what I'm not finding than the end goal. I've found it fairly trivial to find good resources for theory, scales, chords, triads and of course tabs but the "simple" stuff like proper fretting hand finger/thumb placement or plucking hand attack angle seems to get glossed over.
I've been noticing this with a lot of videos lately, everyone has to talk for 5 to 7 minutes before they get to the subject. I watch skateboarding instruction videos that do the same thing.Personally I think Scott talks too much.
Where should I look to see the lifetime membership option? I can't see it anywhere on Scott's page...
Last time I heard it was only available to people who had been members for a year.
I don't recall what it was, but it wasn't ruinous.
I feel like it was more than the second year, but not outrageous.I think when I got the Lifetime, maybe it was the equivalent of buying a second year to get the Lifetime.
I will say the amount of content since getting lifetime about a year back continues to amaze. Some very detailed new courses.
.You are better off getting knee to knee lessons with an instructor. Nothing beats this. Nothing.
Failing that, you should get Skype lessons, where the teacher can provide immediate feedback to your questions or concerns. Also, he or she will make sure you "get it."
I would only use SBL or anything else as a last resort.
There's no "real" teaching going on, because teaching is a two way street.
