Searching Artifakt Elements, new sounds from Source Audio

From the manual:

Even machines have brains. We’ve armed the Artifakt with a 7-Way Effect Selector Switchas an efficient and easy way to explore multiple lo-fi elements, the controller of the out-ofbox experience and the key to exploring the depths of Artifakt’s collection of lo-fielements.The seven engines on the Effect Selector Switch are not presets and are independent fromthe Artifakt’s presets. Turning the Effect Selector Switch after selecting a preset willoverride those preset settings and load the engine on the dial instead. Additionally, theRADIO, TAPE, µVERB, CRUSH, LADDER, VINYL, and GLITCH positions can be overwrittenwith new settings, but only by using the Neuro 3 App.On the next page is a description of each of the seven engines and a comprehensivebreakdown of their engine-specific controls.

My take is these are effect groupings that are good starting places to explore the sound possibilities as well as a starting place for creating some types of sounds. There is a card and page ion the manual that covers what function each of the controls will do depending on the chose Engine or Factory preset.
Engine probably isn’t the best descriptor for artifakt’s 7 way selector, as all of those use multiple blocks of settings to make the “engine” that are all user definable, vs a single engine the likes of what you see from our other pedals. (With the exception of things like c4, ultrawave, and eq2). In the case of artifakt, the engine can be as complex as using every available block (exception being the the time based and glitch blocks are either/or and can’t be used simultaneously), or you can use a single block if you’d like. Such as to make a simple tremolo, or a chorus, etc.

So I tried the plug-in-sequence as described on my phone and it seemed to work, the hardware settings were there. However... when engaged, there is no more output. I tried the mix and vol knob to no avail. I unplugged from my phone and power cycled which didn't help. I then plugged it into my computer and started the desktop Neuro. It showed everything, but still, whenever engaged there's no output. Only when bypassed. I tried true bypass and buffered. I also did a factory reset ( I barely have any presets, so didn't care) but no change. I had noticed, when starting the app, that it must've updated between two days ago and today as I had to log in again.
Anyways, any advice highly appreciated. :) Sorry that there are so many bugs!

Might need to do a bootloader, but I’m not sure you can do that on 3.0 and artifakt isn’t on older versions. Might be worth emailing in to contact so I can loop jesse in.

by which I mean to say @bassbrad - share away!

I have a C4 at the start of my chain ... and then a shallow water clone, anadime chorus and an Eventide H9 I picked up recently (well it's actually wired at the start and end of the chain but there's a fair bit of crossover with the C4) - the H9 is new to me and I've not invested much time in it yet...

... I've half a mind that at end of chain the artifakt's time based effects (reverb/delay/flanger), envelope filter, plus the old gear to act as a simple cab sim (I used just HPF and LPF block on my old HX stomp) could do some nice things in a simpler way than the H9...
It's not going to be as full featured as the H9 (or a collider), but I think that the need for reverb/ambience type stuff for bass tends to be slightly different than what works well for guitar, and I've a hunch that something that is a bit more lofi could work...

Had a bunch of fun with this little set up as I had been wanting to try the Artifakt as a mix or performance tool and it rocked the house. The Donner B1 is used either as a sound source or as a sequencer driving the Future Impact V4, the audio out into the FI works surprisingly well FWIW. Artifakt adds a lot of crunch and interesting textures and the MS70CDR is for extra sweetening.

I used the Artifakt as an insert effect for a vocal part I was mixing looking to add some vintage character which worked perfectly.

@Gibs210 @rsmith601 I seem to be getting the grasp on the various functions of the Artifakt but the Envelope Section remains a conundrum to me as I am not even sure what to make of the function or results using those controls, even with a fair amount of trial and error. Care to elucidate?

I would do a trial run using the envelope to control the speed of the lfo. That’s a great way to get an understanding for how it works. I have some tremolo presets where bandwidth switch is set to do this easily. In the center position, the lfo is set to the neutral position, to the left it’s set to ramp up, so the speed gets slower as the note decays, to the right, it’s set to ramp down the speed as the note decays.

I'm referring to the Envelope section towards the bottom of N3, is it some sort of Matrix mixer or is there some other function?

Sorry, only just seen this as for some reason email notifications were off.

Yes, the envelope section is sort of a matrix, albeit with a single source. So the envelope can be routed to any or all of those destinations at once at differing depths. Centre of each slider is zero modulation, above centre is positive modulation, below centre is negative modulation.

Ild still love to hear more bass demos of this!
For youtube videos, there is one from a Russian channel (along with a few shorts), but not much else.
I guess we’ll just have to wait for other users to post demos.
Since it’s been over 2 months since the release and it still hasn’t happened, I doubt official SA demos for bass will be released at this point.
