Double Bass Searching for a new amp

Hello,
my old Gallienn Krueger MB200, that I bought in 1989, has been stolen.
Now I have to buy asap a new one, because that was my only amp. I was still of the idea of buying amplifier, also because I would need one that would be fine to amplify even the electric bass (an Hofner Club Bass). I'm not doubling usually on the same gig, but who knows...
Do you have something to suggest me?
Maybe an improvement over my old amplifier...

Sorry to hear about that - how annoying.
If it's any consolation, maybe the old MB200 was getting ready to retire anyway. (My old MB150 recently quit working & wasn't cost-effective to fix.)
If I needed a combo mostly for DB immediately, I would probably start here:

There's a nice range of choices, from the simpler affordable Traynor line to the more hi-fi Genzler, Acoustic Image & Phil Jones.
From other retailers, AER & Markbass also have my attention. And of course G/K!

I suggest the Fender Rumble 40 or 100: light, cheap and sound good with double bass and electric.Easy to find used.

I've been exceedingly happy with the new Clarus SL S4 +, with either the mic or the pickup. I play a couple of different jam sessions as house bassist and BG players have gone through the amp and been happy with it.

There are about a hundred good options now. You might want to provide some criteria to narrow it down a bit. How important is price? Any size or weight limits? Do you have an extension or ever play 5-string?

My favorite amp is the 200mb. I haven't found anything I like as much, but that's just me. I'd look for another somewhere.

So sorry to hear it. A couple others have mentioned Traynor’s SB112. If you want to keep to a 12” combo, it’s great on double bass and electric. Light, simple, and a lot of sound from a compact package. It’s the one amp I regret selling. If I were in a similar situation, I’d be looking at that or a Fender Rumble 100.

Mine as well Dylan, I do see them come up occasionally, but as time moves on they’re becoming harder and harder to find used.
The schematic for the amp is readily available, but it’s a completely analog amp solid state amp. Something you just don’t see anymore.

You're going to get a lot of recommendations on an amp. Sorry you got ripped off. I think losing your preamp is as significant. Good luck rebuilding your backline.

Unfortunately,
Some rather enterprising individuals, decided (probably from reading threads here on Talkbass) decided that the 200MB's
are now vintage collectables and are asking outrageous prices for them on a particular resale site that we all are familiar with.
There have been several here on Talkbass in the last 6 months that were priced more realistically. Since I owned both a
Series I and Series II 200MB I'll say that the sound of Traynor SB 106 is very close to my ears with a little more
power, smaller, and lighter. Just my take of course.

Agreed, Ric. I bought a backup off the classifieds here about 7 months ago. Interestingly, they sound a little different from one another. Good to know that the SB106 sounds similar!

There were two different ( Series I and Series II) versions of the 200MB. I’m not entirely sure
what the differences were and I owned both. That might account for the differences your hearing.
