Hey everyone I need some advice. I own a diamond series Schetor 5 string, it has been great in the studio and live, but it does not give me all that I need which is a bit more clarity and a better rolling off of the highs. I am in school right now so the funds are not tremendous, as I literally am living off of what I make playing. Been debating between a Warwick Rock bass, Ken Smith Design Burner or a Peavey Cirrus. I gig a lot and play in church every sunday. I actually play for a live hip-hop/rock group, and we will be on tour this summer. I need something that can growl and still cut through a big band mix. Any suggestions about any of the basses I mentioned?

Man, I heard a guy playing a Cirrus the other night and it was freakin' sweet. He was playing through a Peavey rig. Bright, punchy and in your face, he looked like he was having a great time playing it too!
Yeah I definitely like em, they sound really good when I hear other people play them lol. The funny thing is when I plugged one up in guitar center I did not dig it too much lol. I was just expecting a deeper tone.
Well, no money but there is a Smith in the mix!?
I have no ownership experience with any of these but I have pickedup a few.
I am officially a cheap Basists.
1st which feels best in your hand.
2nd does the tone it makes then inspire you to play as you never imagined. If close, have the action lowered still.
3rd Still no joy, go get the Smith. It is supposed to be a quality build should be versitle.
Me, I like the Ibby BTB line have 4 of them and the most expensive was $880, the last $375, and that is the one that gets all the attention and offers for look and sound. They all slice, which is why I am accused of being too loud

@Tmoney865 yeah the Smith is actually the Ken Smith Design series which wouldn't be Ken Smith making it directly but a factory build based off his design if I am not mistaken. I found one for under a grand I think I might go with it. I am just trying to weigh my options.
