Second GK MB212 problems Help!!!

Here is something nooen has brought up......make sure your active bass battery is not going dead and below the minimum votage level for the preamp. I would just swap a new battery to test and if still doing it then your batt is probably fine unless you have a voltmeter. I've had similar things at gigs and realized aftera song or too it was my active bass and swapped basses and all was good. That is another thing to check is a different bass just to see if it does the same thing.

Sorry to hear this. I have a GK 1001 RB-II that I LOVE. It's pushing an SWR Workingman's Tower (8x10), sounds absolutely phoenominal, and has never let me down. My main axe is a Precision Elite II. I think I'm set as far as my rig, but I'm looking to collect more P-Elites.

And in hindsight , after the first one went bad I talked with Jason Finley and he recommended going with a separate head and cabinet. and i wish I would have just bought either the fusion 500 head or the MB500 head and either a GK cab or something else. that way I would only have to ship back the head would be a lot less headaches, and it is a lot easier to borrow a head in a situation like mine.

No it has never been loaned out and has only left my house for four gigs , I mainly play casino gigs here in reno nv and they don't allow for live stage rig, just a sansamp on the line in for a little color..

Well after speaking with Jason Finley again this morning . And GK's willingness to take care of the problem A.S.A.P.I am going to stick with Gallien Krueger . I have not experienced customer service like this through any other amp manufacturer period..

I personally have been through 4 of these combos .... combo # 4 has been working great for about a year and now it makes this popping / cracking noise after a few mins of playing as the first 2 did (combo # 3 had serious cabinet noise/rattle right out of the box ) and i only use it in practice settings because of all the issues i prevoisly had and i didnt want to die on me in a gig ... ive used gk for 12 years and this is the only GK product ive ever had an issue with.

HI, I want to know if johnny could fix the problem cause I have exactly the same problem in my gk mb212 but can´t return it to the shop because I bought it in USA and now I´m in URUGUAY.(about 7000km). :hmm: please I need a solution. Sorry about my english.

I recently acquired a GK MB212 combo. I set up the volume, gain and boost according to the manual that I downloaded and it was fine until I lightly slapped the E string. It immediately popped (clipped) and no matter what adjustments I make it does the same thing unless I play at a extremely low volume. I don't have the warranty so, I'm out of luck. I'm wondering whether I even want to bother to bring it to a repair tech and waste the money after reading all of the negative reviews. signed...Very Unhappy with my first trial of GK products

Yes! I am saying it's GK's fault after seeing how many 212 combos have speaker problems. I own a Eden 2x10 combo and a SWR 4x10 workingmans with a 300 head for years with nary a problem. Everyone seems to come to the defense of GK, but I feel they put out at least one bad product and I was the unfortunate recipient. My bad, I didn't read the reviews first when looking for a lightweight amp over 300 watts.
