Second opinion on speaker replacement

I made another $40 today babysitting my niece and nephew.

I am thinking I might go to the speaker place this week, maybe tomorrow to show him the cab and see what he says. I won't buy anything, but I'll take lots of notes. Or do you think he'd be offended by that?

The cab is in really nice condition so it sways me. I think I will be getting a Kustom de300hd for the head.

Edit: Will, if you'd want me to show it to you first I could meet you somewhere or my place in south austin, I'll buy you a 6 pack of your favorite beverage. Or tell me exactly what measurements to make and I'll make them, my dad has all kinds of measuring devices to make it happen.

I've been busy, I think Saturday I will want to do something with my Cab.

In the meantime I got to thinking, my other cab is in pieces too, it's another old peavey relic, should I add a padding to it too? I painted a metal grill from home depot gold to match the head.

The important measurements are the internal height, width and depth of the cabinet portion, as well as the internal height, width and depth of the port(s). It's the nternal space that counts.

Your other speaker looks like a 1502 Black Widow with the ribbed cone, which is good if it is. Has shorter xmax, gets grindy earlier, better for the guitar amp mids/highs. Need something with more bass capability for the 215 bass cab on the low side.

Thanks, I think it kind of looks like a winking panda with a golden smile. And Yea it's the 1502 something or other meant for bass @ 8 ohms.

I am busy tomorrow it's my last day watching my cousin, I will be free Saturday, and have been paid.

I also want to incorporate green lights into the amps, and maybe paint the aluminum sides on the cab screen black as well as if I can custom face plates to replace all the brand name plates on my stuff.

In addition to adding to it's durability and conditioning it for longevity. Threaded insert at every working screw joint, like for the baffle and speaker, and casters.

Edit: Oh and I went to the Charlie Hodge Monkeyshine comedy show with his band Sweat and Lotion, over at the Rattle Inn, was hilarious and $3 lone stars and Jamesons. I think it's every Monday, and free.

Today is Thursday ( actually might be friday by now ) , but anyway......:D

Haven't been to one of those...probably should go.

Let me know if maybe something on the weekend, or maybe after work sometime after work maybe next week works out.
