Double Bass Securing a jack to a tailpiece

The Gollihur Jack Mount Kit from my Realist Lifeline has failed. The head of the plastic screw disintegrated and left the jack dangling. I managed to stop it from rattling with a rubber band! Any suggestions on the best way to secure a 1/4" jack to a tailpiece without damaging either the jack or the tailpiece? I suspect the force of inserting and removing a plug several times from the jack took its toll. It's definitely a two-handed operation: one hand holding the jack and one holding the plug. Which means you can't really hold the bass itself, making things a bit awkward. Anyway, any solutions to report?

I got a black one that was the correct length for the washers from the Gollihur kit.

I always cut off all of those janky connectors & jacks immediately, then solder on a Switchcraft acoustic guitar jack and mount it in the tailpiece hole. Bombproof, simple, 20 minutes effort and under $20 spent. If you don't have the skills, any guitar tech can handle it. No more rattles, no more other people stepping on the cord and ripping your pickup off the bass....

I don't remember what size it is but a plastic pipe clamp from the hardware store is exactly what Gage uses to mount the 1/4 " jack to the tailpiece threading it through the string. The Lando clip is simply a plastic pipe clamp with a plastic bolt, nut and washer. I have one
but as they are sold from Germany it takes several weeks to get one. Just my take of course.

These work great. Put them around the input Jack then secure with a cable tie through the tailpiece string holes.
