Seeking opinions - 5 string sets w/Tapered B

Fantastic, I missed that detail. Somewhere else I saw something suggesting that the winding on all their strings was 38". And for most of my strings that actually wouldn't be a problem, but the B and G strings are much closer to the nut on this bass due to the headstock configuration.

Speaking of winding length, the BB735A is factory-equipped with D'Addario XL Nickel "super long" with 38" winding length (ball end to taper), including the B.

As you can see in the pic below, the taper on the B starts just short of the B tuner post. So, 38" wouldn't really be an issue with this particular bass as long as it's put thru-body.

You really are the string expert around here! Thank you for all the info. I actually had a notion to try out stringing through the bridge instead last time I changed strings, but I actually wasn't able to get the B string through the end of the bridge without scratching up the finish at the tail end of the bass, so I'm sticking with through body for the foreseeable future.
