Seen a bass that's new to me

Someone came in where I work looking to trade in a bass going towards a keyboard. The person who handled him said he hadn't seen that type of bass in our store before (he has been there a long time and seen a lot). Apparently when the store got it in, they sold out very quickly. The dude mentioned about then selling very quickly through out the US. I wonder if anyone has played on of these before. I did not get a chance to sit and play.

It is a Gibson BFG with black beauties on it. It looks nice except the gap where the pick ups are.

Hahah well, I used to be the type of bassist who never really cared to really start learning about basses themselves, amps, strings and being a member of a forum. I.had what I had and just played lol so perhaps I am just an experienced bass player that is a little bit newer to the whole spectrum of the game.

my brother kickstart my interest in music two three years ago, sinse i have to look after some new every time im on net, i read about how the solid body "born" and who it was behind, than than i look at different types og solid body´s than pu and also further to many things about guitars and basses, reason i begin to play bass was because couldnt dig guitar, had a scar an my forefinger on my left hand with i allmost cut the "thread" dunno what that calls in eng, that makes difficult to take som chords for me, than i try bass, and sinse i couldnt stop mysleft and get adicted to look after new stuff

the reviews I've read about the BFG bass have been positive. I haven't played one or even seen one, but I think they're cool. nothing else looks like them. how much do they want for it?

It is being sold for 999.99 used. Which is the same price as the used Lakland Bob Glaub I was looking at.

I wasn't impressed by it to be honest.
And I like the Les Paul bass a lot.
