Good answer! TJ for those that don't know is the John's cat that lives at The Gallery. I haven't been to The Gallery yet this week, though TJ posed when taking a picture of the SEI 9, so I think I can do this one!

Thanks!

He's a lovely little chap - though I did worry at one point on my visit that I might step on him - he didn't seem any bigger than my (admittedly size 11) DMs.

Just noticed the clever way you positioned him in front of the green box with "CAT 1" on it.

Pure good luck I managed to even get a picture of TJ at all. I was photographing the SEI 9 and joked with Jon that TJ ought to pose in the photo, whereupon TJ promptly sat next to it (of his own doing) whilst tracking down a fly he was chasing.

I know what you mean about treading on him though…:hmm:

Thanks to all for the comments about the SEI 9.

I went to The Gallery yesterday to drop off a couple of components, the SEI 9 now has strings (or was that teeth…:ninja:) & a pickup installed and Martin was working hard on the electrics. He hopes to get it finished in the next few days (:bassist::hyper::hyper::bassist:) before he goes on holiday (:atoz::atoz:...bummer for everyone else waiting for their basses).

How the hell are you gonna play that thing?

:):-)

:hiding: Hi there. I bought this bass a little under a year ago from a guy in South London:

(Not my photos, but it is my bass.)

Just in case there's actually anyone here who doesn't know what it is, it's an Original headless 5 - Walnut facings, blue l.e.d.'s (which I rarely use btw), Aguilar OBP-3 pre and Kent Armstrong p/ups. Originally strung with Elites DBE's, but I had Martin service it a couple of weeks ago and asked him to fit it with Thomastics - can't decide whether I prefer them, but the B does seem a little better balanced with the other strings IMHO.

Oh, and I too have met TJ - but he didn't meet me cos he was asleep throughout my visit (curled up on a partially finished neck for what looked like a 7)!

May I please be admitted to the SEI owner's club. :hyper:

All, I confess I picked up the Sei 9 string on Wed of last week but have not been able to post pictures until now (had my left ankle operated on again last Thursday to remove the metal work this time).

Anyway, it is everything I was hoping it to be. Beautiful appearance (imho), wonderfully low action, superb sound and easy to play (provided you have played ERBs before). I fully appreciate it will not be to the liking of many, but it sure is testament to Martin's ability to take the sketchings of a mad lunatic and transform it into this:
