Yeah dude - it's a seriously great bass - the tone is stunning and it's so good to have a four string again - though I've got so used to playing a 5 that I find it a bit confusing now! I kep looking for notes on the low B...! God knows what it must be like for you ERB Sei owners... playing a four after a 7, 8, or 9 string would be a complete head f***! ;) Well for me anyway...

I'm so happy with the Jazz, it's exactly what I had in mind when I first asked Matin to make it and least to say he's matched every expectation - and it really is an absolutely stunner - it just demands "Play me now!!!" - can't wait to gig it next week with my funk band... oh mama!

I'm off to Morocco later today for a gig there tomorrow night at a jazz festival - I'm taking the Single Cut with me and I'm pretty nervous about flying with the bass - but the airline said it's OK as hand luggage as long as it's under 10KG - and I weighed it this morning and in the case it weighs 7.1KGs - pretty impressive for a Sei 5 string I think... I'll let you know how I get on- wish me luck.

Also looking forward to seeing a load more Sei's finished soon - I've peaked at the chambered bodied 9 string and quite frankly I was scared! Should be an exciting few months for us all :)

yes dood - great - we played in an old castle to about 1800 people - the setting was beautiful and considering we were an English language band playing to a French/Arabic/African speaking audience I think it went down well.

I took my Single Cut - in the cabin on the plane - and it was wonderful to have my trusty bass with me - it sounded wicked and gave me a lot of confidence on stage. Sei's aren't just gorgeous to look at, they really do the business live... simply the best basses.

Bassworm, I assume this is the bass you're selling? I always loved this one; wish I had the cash at the moment. Stunning.

Aawww, its only got strings not teeth!! Awaiting delivery of the bridge units from ABM at the moment...always something! :hmm:

Mike, so glad the 4 string has worked out well and I really liked the video. I also have to think a bit when I play a bass with less strings (had to play a 4 not that long ago), though there is some excellent discipline to be had in doing so. :)

Oh don't say that dude - I feel like I'm just cracking this lark after 25 years so it's been a long time coming for me too... regular practice is what helps, I try and do 20minutes minimum a day but I don't even do that some days - just depends how busy I am with everything else.

Re the Looper - I use a Boss RC2 - not very hi tech but good enough for me - I use it live a little bit but mainly for practice - the clip was completely improvised by the way - even I'm pleasantly surprised by how tuneful it is!

HI Mike

yeah, trying to put the hours in and am hoping that the light will come on in a few months time and I'll get that oh so needed control between the left and right hand.

All I want is the groove at this stage, the speed will come with time.

That was impressive for a total improve piece! It's amazing the different tones that bass produces ... have you put it down yet :)

Yeah man! that'd be awesome! if you can just take a picture or two of my bass :-) just ask martin for it. it's a Serie 2. Front and back in spalted maple!!
