You'll let those of us still waiting for our basses in too?

I'd be up for it. I don't travel to London as often as I used to, but something like this would be well worth it.

Of course if it's far enough in the future, then maybe I'd have something to bring with me...

Mike, the SEI bass fest sounds good to me. I wonder whether we might try get Martin along?

MistahBenn, I think you now understand why we all play SEI basses...really good to hear it is working out so well for you. :hyper:

Cool guys - glad some of you sound interested already - I know London isn't necessarily the nearest or easiest place to meet but I think we could at least make a day and night of it - if it makes any difference I could probably put a couple of peaople up in Brixton...

Regarding when it happens I think early next year would be best as there are still quite a few of us (here) who have basses on the way and I for one want to bring mine along - so let's think about Feb or early March next year - I think it would be really good fun and just great to see a load of beautiful basses in one place... and maybe Martin, John and Alex would like to come along as well - it'd be rude not to invite them!

Cheers

Mike

Sounds like a cool idea. But what happens if you play someone else's Sei and like it more than your own?

Im up for it! Will be cool.

sei24bass yes i know now. I can now call myself a professional session player as last night got offered my first paid sesssion of the back of that track i played on last week. Its a small independent label in Sheffield, wnats me on their tracks! :) All thanks to the Sei.

Blimey - seems I've put the cat among them pigeons...! I won't be swapping my bass I can tell thee now! But I have to Sei, ahem sorry, say that I have got my eye on Mr Linsay's new fretless - that's is a corker!

OK let's leave the meet up plans for now - now I know some of you have shown genuine interest I'll start making some plans - maybe even start a list of people who think they can make it - I think it will be great to meet you guys - we all sound like very nice people. Cool. PM me or something to say you wanna do it - I'll try and get a webpage sign up thingy happening soon.

:hiding: After almost two years, I thought you all would like to see what the close-to-finished result looks like as of a few days ago... ff.jpg

Notrt, one seriously beautiful bass you have there and great to see another bass coming out of the SEI 'factory'!. I have always really rather liked this bass and think it is a testament to the flamboyant design that it adapts so well and easily to a fan fretted design (and also to the extended cut away of the Sei 8).

Sorry to hear about the wait though. Almost 2 years sounds very unlike Martin, so what happened?

...of this bass as she's done. Waiting for more feedback from the boys with bated breath...

while it's a little blurry, you can see the net result.

I will keep you all posted.

...and I am on the East Coast of the US, so the short of it is that no, I haven't heard her yet.

After the prolonged build, I am v e r y curious to see how she turned out once she's really "done" --- which is supposed to be momentarily...I sure do hope that the boys got her "right"...we're still emailing about some of my questions.

I will keep you all posted.
