Seismic Audio 4x10/1x15 Cab?

Package Deal | 4x10 and 1x15 Bass Guitar Cabinet Combo | 410 and 115 Bass Guitar Cabs

I'm looking into a cheap loud stack, and this is what i came across. Has anybody heard of these?

Havnt heard them, but if you are going for two cabs you will want matched ones. IE two 410 or two 115 cabs.

As far as I know, Seismic uses cheap chinese made drivers.

And, as stated above - the combo of a 1X15 and a 4X10 is a poor match.

+1 again. The 410/15 pairing is very poor, even though it seems popular. Read up on that. And +1 don't skimp on speakers, they're the most important link in your whole chain.

I'm not sure I trust 103 db 1w/1m efficiency on that cab. However, with shipping included, I kind of want one to try out... If I sell my Mesas I'll need a new trunk ready cab.

They're extremely budget stuff. If that's all your budget allows and you need it now....OK. But, that stuff is priced so low, there is no room at all to use any kind of components you'd remotely consider quality, even at a budget level and make any sort of profit whatsoever.

There are a lot of things that are overpriced and the old "you get what you pay for" does not hold true but in this case, I'd say you're definitely not getting what you're not paying for.

I will say - When I first started playing I bought a 410 from Moshaudio on e-bay that was very similar to the seismic audio 410.

It did great & never gave me any issues. It was loud, a wee bit bland, and required extreme Eq'ing to get a tone that "I" liked. If your a set everything to noon guy you may not like the cabs.

Also do not drop them hard, or get them soaked. You may have to patch some holes if you do.

I'd like to check out their 412 guitar cabs and give them a shot on bass. They appear to have better specs then the 410 cab.

I'm also weary of the claims of their 310, I'd still give it a try though...

I have 2 of the 4x10s. They don't sound bad at all. The cabinets are more thin walled, the handles are plastic though they sell steel replacements...the steel corners are kind of thin. All in all they're not bad. The speakers are Quake.

Cant speak for the 4X10 but I bought the 1X15 on ebay when Seismic was selling them empty. I lined the inside with speaker foam and installed an Eminence 3015 and have been happy ever since. Metal corners are thin, made out of MDF on the sides and plywood in the front. When I'm playing it I could care less...it sounds great. Perfect match for my 2X10.

2) Don't buy something new when you could buy something used and get twice the quality.

3) Don't think that Seismic's cab "specs" represent any kind of truth about anything

I owned the 4x10. I bought it used for $100 from a friend because I was in between cabs and needed a cab for a last minute gig. Worst $100 I've ever spent in my life. The speakers are garbage.

It did, however, look pretty badass burning in the fire pit we have behind my house.

For the price of that stack you could get something far superior for the same amount (maybe) less, but maybe only one cab. If you're into loud and nice sounding, check out this SWR Goliath III 4x10. No idea if that's local for you or not as your location isn't listed in your profile, but that's a sweet (IMO) sounding cab for a sweet price, and will beat Seismic Audio's quality any day!

Alright, thanks for the input guys. I will definitely not get the Seismic Audio cabs, i need something more durable. I ran across an Ampeg 8x10: Classifieds for Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming | ksl.com
Would that be a better purchase? What do you guys think of this Ampeg Stack?

Going back to the SA cabs, I bought the 210 they offer for $189 new. The ratings are 400 watts at 8 ohms and I use a Genz-Benz Neo Pak 3.5 to drive it (350 watts at 8 ohms). I use it for small gigs where there's a vocalist/acoustic guitarist through a PA (also Seismic Audio brand), and a small drum kit (3 piece). The SA cab has enough volume to drown out even a loud crowd and the rest of the guys, but I'm a nice bassist and don't. It fits perfectly for practice and small gigs. For bigger gigs I pull out the ampeg setup, but this puppy is reliable.

I had a short chat with Dave in their support department, who informed me that their drivers are made for them by them. It may be Chinese materials, but they're assembled in Memphis, TN.

I just picked up seismic 2 cabinet package 1x15 and 2x10. I'm driving them with a GK 700 RBII and so far very pleased. Spent the better part of my budget on the GK head so the cabs aren't as posh, but they deliver a nice even response, barely tested them volume-wise but bedroom levels they're rattling the house in a nice way.
