Selecting some new J pickups

I haven't tried very many kinds of pickups, I'll be honest.

I'm looking for a set of pickups for a church bass.

We play a variety of different songs. Some are slow and sweet while some are faster and more pop-rock style.

Tonally I'm looking for a set of pickups that sound very clear. I'm looking for nice, strong fundamental notes without a lot of harmonic overtones. The high notes should be able to cut through nicely. Our current bass is all lows. You can hear the lowest notes loud and clear but if there's ever a little bass solo or high part it gets lost.

High output is nice but I'm sure a nice preamp can take care of that if necessary. One of our bassists brings his own and the output is huge compared to the church bass which is pretty weak really.

I'm not looking for an aggresive tone at all, even for the fast songs. Most of our bassists don't mess with the settings on the bass at all so pickups that sound good in a variety of styles would be best, although I think it's more important that they sound good in the slow songs because that's when it'll be more noticable.

Any ideas? So far I'm looking at Nordstrand NJ4SV pickups (the bass I'm looking at putting them in is a Jazz). What do you guys think?

Based on my experience with the NJ5FS, which I believe are voiced like the NJ4SV, I think the latter would be a good choice. They have a clear, smooth, punchy tone that could work in a variety of settings. Every note really stands out in the mix. I'd call them strong but not aggressive unless you play hard, at which point they will growl.

One other one I was thinking of (purely based on the description) were the NJ4SEs. Do you think those would fit what I'm looking for at all?

Other than those I think some SGD pickups would be worth trying.
