Sell me on the Throne Torcher

I've always wanted an HM-2 (clone) that works with bass, and the Abominable Electronics Throne Torcher is at the top of my GAS list.

I love my Darkglass X7 and use it with my death metal band, but I'm thinking of getting a different flavour of dirt for my bass-keyboard-drums metal band, something more full-range than the X7.

On paper the Throne Torcher looks great, and it sounds great on guitar, but the bass demos on YT are sorely lacking. Too much low gain stoner rock with the High knob turned down.

I guess what I'm asking is does anyone have the TT and can confirm it will do high gain, chainsaw grind on bass?

I had one awhile ago. It was Great on guitar and bass and the led clipping option was cool as well. I didn’t really like the blend so much.

Eventually I moved on to the LWA Left Hand Wrath. The blend is better, it’s easier to find and there’s a few more tonal options.

Now I’m using a Pepers Pedals HM-Too Many Clones with a blend pedal.

Earth Bound Audio Throat Locust is another option that seems to get a good amount praise too.

Theres a lot of HM2 variants but the Throne Torcher is one of the best for bass. I'd like to add that while there are some Lone Wolf fans in regards to boutique HM2 pedals, that maker has a reputation for making gear with sporadic quality control. I can confirm it with firsthand experience.

Cheers guys. "availability" is a dirty word for me, I live in Denmark where the used market is pretty terrible, and buying new from across the pond is often prohibitively expensive. A used TT just popped up for a decent price considering shipping and taxes from the US, so I'm thinking I'll go for it regardless. "better than" doesn't mean much when it's the only thing on offer

I felt like it was tough to get a the balance I wanted just right. Although, I was running into another slightly overdriven preamp. It is a great version of the HM2 and as I said earlier the LED clipping option is pretty rad. I just listed some other options because I know they can be tough to get.
