Senior Bassist (55+) Appreciation Thread (Post Pics)

This is an annual party we do "Howl at the moon" - this is from 2019. Practicing tonight for the 2021 party this Saturday evening. Rocking on at 65...

Last weekend my husband and I decided on the spur of the moment to crash the local blues jam. A friend was there and got this picture of us. I rarely wear anything but a dress on any stage but blues is the exception to that rule and I wasn't going to get dressed up for this casual jam anyway.

Also, the stand isn't mine and it just looks like I was using it. I guess some of the guests bring charts. Both of us are 60+.

Outdoor gig with multiple bands. Sound guy thought it would be a good idea to use a new electronic mixer he was not familiar with. This produced multiple problems for every band that played. Two nice monitors right in from of me were not working and the sound guy could not get them working so i could not hear anything my bandmates were playing.. 4 huge subs right in front of me were so loud I was swimming in a low frequency backwash that I could not hear myself thru my own rig but at least I could hear some stuff thru the pa. Half way thru the set my bass feed into the PA cut out and never came back. Nobody left happy. Probably lost gigs because of the crap result.
