71. Picked up bass three years, ago. gigging is on my bucket list.View attachment 4408741
Sorry for your loss. Not really an action shot, but here is one between songs of me and my good blues buddy, Kim Mason, in May 2019. I was 70. I played my Drake Custom fretless 4 string that night. Kim loved that bass. He died from COVID in November, 2020. A huge loss to the Des Moines, Iowa music community, RIP, my friend.
One of my favorite stage photos of Kim and me.

This was end of July this year. I play in a variety of places.
This was a backpack giveaway in the hood.
Playing in the alley next to a small church.
It was so hot. Glad we had some shade.
I am 56, almost 57.

OT comment: I once auditioned for a band and the guitar player looked at me aghast after I was set up, and warned me that my cable was tangled up in my guitar strap.Good luck my friend! Also, loop that cord through your strap so it doesn’t break.
The cajon is used often in worship environments outdoors or when an acoustic set is desired.Nice to see another group with a cajon!
I love the cajon and don't know that I'd ever want to go back to a drum set. This was a gig last Friday night.

Man, you are a bad a__. Still in amazing shape, rockin a double stack, and your stage presence seems legit with the black leather jacket, jeans, chain, etc. I'm inspiredLink Removed Link Removed Link Removed Link Removed Somewhere in Oklahoma 8/21/21

Great bass! Looks like you used the Fender Black Tape Wound strings on it. Do you still have it? I bought a '65 Jazz in 1966 and used it through high school, some college, toured with it for 3 years and used for weekend gigs after that. Came to a screeching halt when our house was burglarized in 1976 and they stole all my touring gear. Miss that bass a lot! Amp too. This is from 2019. Gonna be 60 next month.
