I think this was 2018. I am 57 now and have been playing bass since I was 13.
This was end of July this year. I play in a variety of places.
This was a backpack giveaway in the hood.
Playing in the alley next to a small church.
It was so hot. Glad we had some shade.

Earlier today (Sunday September 19th). Still playing at age 67. Sitting in front of my 100 watt Yamaha
head (hijacked from a combo) and Fender Rumble 115 cabinet.

I love the cajon and don't know that I'd ever want to go back to a drum set. This was a gig last Friday night.

OT comment: I once auditioned for a band and the guitar player looked at me aghast after I was set up, and warned me that my cable was tangled up in my guitar strap.
I didn't take that job.
A little chamber music earlier this Summer. I'm 69.
The cajon is used often in worship environments outdoors or when an acoustic set is desired.Nice to see another group with a cajon!

Yes, that seems to be the most common use. We use it as our regular gig setup playing rock and things have gone well. It makes working on the singing so much easier not screaming over a drummer.

Great bass! Looks like you used the Fender Black Tape Wound strings on it. Do you still have it? I bought a '65 Jazz in 1966 and used it through high school, some college, toured with it for 3 years and used for weekend gigs after that. Came to a screeching halt when our house was burglarized in 1976 and they stole all my touring gear. Miss that bass a lot! Amp too.
Here's a shot of me with it in 1972. That's my Standel amp peeking out between the guitarist an our girl singer's elbow. I used the Fender Black Tape Wound strings back thing too.
And here's a picture of the whole group. We were crammed together on that stage and playing songs for pictures while the photographer did his things. Normally Tom, the guy on the right (congas), was off the stage on the floor at this venue, Steve (guitar) was over in front of his amp where Tom is, I was in front of my amp and Vera was where I am in this shot. We actually had a keys player on the other side of the drums but he had given his notice so he's not in any of the shots.
