Jim,

Did the Kern "grow" with the built in power supply to 2U?
How long did it take to get the it from time of order?

Thanks,
Sam

It is still one rack space. It took about a week and a half to get it. My dealer (Jeff at MAE--Music Art Entertainment in Ft. Lauderdale, phone 954-581-2203)called Kern right up and it was done. There was no extra charge for these two upgradesfor the 777 preamp. I payed just under $700 w/o sales tax. The Kern did come with a simple easy to understand manual and warranty card of course.

Boy, the times have changed. When I bought my Kern preamps they came with virtually no paperwork. I even had to email Henry Kern to try to get some kind of documentation and then it was only a poor copy of a copied ad for the preamp and it took repeated attempts to get any response. It was one of the reasons I gave up on the Kern preamp. I really liked the sound and the simplicity of the Kern and I liked the fact that they are made about 85 miles from my home and the quality of components, but at the time it seemed like a kind of fly-by-night organization.
