Double Bass "Series 2" vs "Series 3" Acoustic Image CONTRA amp?

Hi, I've just found a "series 2" AI Contra amp in good condition for sale where I live. It's 6 years old and half the price of a new "series 3" AI amp. I'll try it soon.

What are the differences between the two series? Are they important? Is it the sound or something else that is different?

I used the WayBack Machine to find our page on the Series III units, in which we explained the differences between it and the former unit. See it at http://web.archive.org/web/20060507180750/www.gollihur.com/kkbass/aicontra.html

The primary differences is the use of a combination jack for 1/4" or XLR inputs, higher power (about double), mute switch, lighter weight, smaller, pre- and post-EQ choices for DI output...
