Series Cable

i bought another 4-ohm EA Whizzy 12M today. When it gets here I'll have (2) identical cabs.
I'm looking to run them in series @ 8-ohms with my Thunderfunk TFB420

The cabs have speak-on inputs, the head has Speak-on and 1/4"

Can someone help out with a series cable design? I'm thinking one connection into the amp with a series connected lead to each cab, but my O.C.D. demands a neat and elegant splice, preferably within the connector body.

Get three speakon receptacles and mount them in a small box. Wire them all from + to - , + to - ,and use regular speakon cables. It will not matter which connector is the input and which are the outputs as this connects the amp to the two speakers in series any way you hook it up. Mark the box "series connector" to avoid confusion.

Thanks. Maybe I can mount that in the rack facing backwards somehow...

Also, if a single cab was connected, with 2-cables were plugged into this box, it would simply reverse the polarity, correct?
Anything wrong with that? (They would have to be adajcent or open circuit, I think...)

Here you go. I've made a couple of 'em. No sweat. What's cool about this is, let's say you plug two 4-ohm cabs into this cable. That presents 8 ohms to your amp. If your amp is rated at four ohms, you could daisy-chain another 4-ohm cab to each of the original cabs (four cabs total) and it would result in a four-ohm load on your amp (two 2-ohm chains in series). So you can run four 4-ohm cabs off your amp rated at four ohms. You're gonna need some power, though.

Oh, BTW, I did that schematic for quarter-inch plugs. Wherever a wire is hooked to tip, put that in 1+. For a wire hooked to sleeve, put it in 1-.
