Either the instructions (post #2) or the diagram (post #12) will work just fine; choose one or the other to follow.
However, there are some differences in the details, and they depict two slightly *different* ways of accomplishing the same thing. If you start with one as your guide, switch to the other, etc., you can end up either really confused, or in real trouble (dead bass).
Choose whichever one (instructions or diagram) that you understand most clearly, and follow that through from start to finish. Don't use one to clarify the other; the devils in the details can get you.
