Setlist Critique & Feedback requested.

"we all sing"- Just my opinion but I am sick of these 4-5 dudes singing type bands- Eagles,etc...
To me "we all sing" says "None of us are particularly good at any of our instruments" have always found that to be the case.

He said they work hard on Harmon's. sweet list. Some of those mellow tunes I call parlor music. First set stuff. Trust me if stuff sounds really good the crowd likes it. Brandy- now there's a tune I dream of covering. One hell of a bass line if u take the time to learn it right. I play along with that some times . If anyone's looking for a challenge that a fun one the takes more than 2 minutes to learn.

FWIW- comin from a 37 year old, that looks more like a classic rock list. You need to ditch a lot of it and do a lot more NEW country ala Jason Aldean, Eric church, Brantley Gilbert, dierks Bentley, etc. etc. I subbed for an all country band a couple of weeks ago and did 6 Eric Church songs throughout the night along with many others like Jamey Johnson, Blackberry Smoke, Gary Alan, etc. They killed. The dance floor stayed packed. Everybody loved it.

IMHO there are many categories NEw Country, Classic Country, Country-Rock, Soft Country...

No interest in much "New" country myself because I don't play 5-string and it is almost a pre-requisite now for those songs. They all ride the LOW C and LOW D...

I think that is just plain ridiculous.

The Eagles were all top-notch at their individual instruments.

Agreed. That guy made a ridiculous statement.

OP, I like most of your list. The Dwight and a few others wouldn't go over very well here, but most of what you have are good songs.

By the way, you are a variety band that plays some country. Either way, you should do fine other than a few floor clearing (what I call "go pee and get a drink") songs.

What??! You must be hanging with different folks than me. Most guys around here sing and play. Only way to make decent cash as a cover band.

Vocals set your band apart from the others. Particularly for cover band material. Some songs lend themselves to another voice. One band I'm in has a great vocalist that can pull off the high Journey like vocals but he can't do the smoother soulful stuff I can pull off. Plus you never know when your main lead vocalist is going to leave, have a cold etc. I sub in on bass with a three piece about once a month. We all sing, lead and/or harmonies and I tell you I can barely hang with these guys cause they're real good. They're booked 3-4 weekends a month and some weekday evenings.
