Setting Low & High Pass Filters on a Power Amp

Please excuse the nubey question.
How does one decide what levels to set on their Low & High Pass filters on a Power Amp please ?
Like a Bass Guitar -> PreAmp -> PowerAmp => 2 speaker cabinet scenario for example. I presume that with a 2 channel PA type Power amp that has said filters, you decide on the threshold to pass that matches the capability of your speakers ? Or the capability of the average human ear perhaps ?
Is there a good article discussing this subject somewhere on TB or elsewhere ?

Gerenally crossing over happens between 80Hz - 120 Hz. This point doesn't have much, if anything, to do with the human range of hearing. It has more to do with speaker design and specs.

The Crown IP's have this ability and more are comming out, but most 2 channel amps do not have crossovers built in.

QSC GX series have X-overs fixed at 100Hz. The Crown XTi series have adjustable X-overs.

The filters on the A&H MixWiz are 100Hz I believe. It is a good starting point.

BIamp or dual full range?

Depending on cab ability and what you want to hear you might set the low filter at 40 for a MacDaddy sub or70 Hz for a cheap 4x10.

Crossover around 100Hz for a true sub you can put off stage and a decent cab for mids and highs. No crossover for dual full range. Crossing higher than 100Hz makes the sub locatable so your rig needs stacking in a good spot all together.

You might as well power up a full PA with the same gear.

Right now the cabinets will be a GK 115RBH and a MarkBass 2x10. It's the CMD 102P but just as a cabinet without the built in LMK Amp in use for this exercise. That's 400W + 300W capability respectively I believe.

My question is more theoretical at the moment but any new cabinets involved would be of a Bergantino type quality shall we say. Not cheap anyway.
