Setting up first band - what should I do?

nvm read the thred, it helps if you all like the same bands and talk about music together a lot. See if you can find a vet player to piss around with you guys. it will speed things up abit. thats what I did, got one of our youth leaders (he was 20, and could play drums guitar, bass, keys, sing) he got us on the worship band with in weeks, now we play our own stuff (some 5 years later).
if you like Anime check out Beck(the show) its kinda a "how to guide", but more over it is fun to watch. haha
I'm not much of an anime watcher, my TV show of choice is actually a lot more embarrassing.

I definitely can't offer as much information as Stumbo, but I've been in that situation before. In my first band when I was about your age, pretty much all we did was argue about what songs we were going to do and never really got around to learning any. We eventually went our separate ways without ever playing a gig.
So I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's important to make sure you are on the same page as your bandmates and that you can all agree on what to do and where to go next. Expect some arguments and drama, but at the end of the day you'll still be friends and that's all part of being a band.

Haha, let's just say that I'm part of a particularly large fandom for a show that isn't directed towards my audience which has pretty good music in my opinion.

Not even close. I saw one episode of Glee, hated it. Their music isn't even original.
