setup tanglewood rebel 6 to EADGBE

hello all - is it possible to set up my tanglewood rebel 6a tuned to eadgbe (currently tuned to beadgc)- how would i go about it? I understand it has twin truss rods and dont want to break it, will i need different strings etc.

Yes, you will need different strings. You'll probably want to buy a 7-string set from Conklin and use the thinner 6-strings or check out Octave4Plus and get a custom 6-string set.

They might make Bass IV strings, but I don't know for certain that they'd fit a typical 34"+ scale bass.

Use the same gauges you use now on your EADG for the lower 4 strings, and then find the next two lighter gauges for the two new higher strings. You may have to purchase a full set of extra light strings to get those last two, but then you might end up with two spares for your D and G. Of course you will need to adjust neck relief and your bridge saddles when the bass settles in with the new lighter string tension.

What gauge strings do you currently use for your EADG?

thanks guys - have had a gander at the conklin and Octave4plus sites and have sent them a query email to see what they can offer as none of the standard sets match (although could probably drop the F string from the 7 string set to E). Hopefully they will be able to help
