SFT as a preamp?

I've had some good luck in the past recording with the SFT and a DI box.

I was wondering if anyone has used the SFT as a preamp for their gig rig?

Either driving a power amp, in your amp's FX loop, or maybe the first pedal on your pedal board?

I do! Well it's not the first or the last pedal on my board, but I use it as an "amp" to give a slightly dirty very wooly sound to my bass.

So you use it as a regular dirt pedal? or something that's always on?
