Thank goodness we have Max! I have a ridiculously complicated custom order in with him right now and I'm pretty excited. He's really the only guy out there who you can go to with a big list of super-specific needs and get exactly what you want.

I just received a [sfx] [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. The unit weighs about a half pound, no more than one pound compared next to a 2.3 pound EA Micro amp. Built like a tank. The steel sides are polished smooth and the bass and music volume control knobs glide with precision.
The tone of the micro-H sounds better than I recall through a Pandora headphone amp. I've never heard a Walter Cafe. The micro-H sounds great - so much so, that I would look forward with pleasure to playing through the cans instead of doing it as a last resort because someone was watching TV or whatever. For a while I used the headphones out jack of a Genz Benz Streamliner 900. The micro-H sounds better. It's almost startling how clear and present my basses sound with the micro-H. I used a fretted Fender Aerodyne Jazz electric bass and a fretless Rob Allen Deep 4 acoustic bass. I was especially keen to learn if the micro-H could accurately project the acoustic glory of the RA ... it does with flying colors, right down to the deep open airy tone of an upright bass.
For the record, my headphones are Audio-Technica ATH-D40fs.
The micro-H would be perfect for travel. It's really small. Here's a photo of me holding it in my hand.

I just got Invalid Link Removed (ordered in late Jan). It's the best fuzz I've ever heard. Extremely happy with my purchase!
It sounds especially good in the effects loop of my 3Leaf GR2 (combined with a MXR bass octave deluxe). I've finally found that 70s keyboard synth sound I've been looking for!
EDIT: In fact, here it is. Obviously, I'll be redoing the cabling... At some point. ;-)

Once a few more pedals are in place, I will then begin my next step of High-Tech Mediocrity. I am going to convert over from my GK combo amp to a power amp and owning a cab or three. A 1x12 for small/intimate settings, a 1x15 for maybe for slightly larger, or a 2x12.

Got an email from Max stating my Micro Thumpinator is on its way to me. Does anyone have any experience with the Red Dragon being used on bass guitar? I'm wondering how it would sound to be used as a low drive for a little bit of breakup.

Just got an email a few days ago that my Thumpinator has shipped. I can't wait to try it out. I've always had a little bit of an issue with my Mesa 400+ making speakers move (and sometimes clip) from its lowend (which I actually use very conservatively), so I'm wondering if this will help with that.
I'm also waiting on a Micro Fuzz. I'm going to stick it across the top of my true bypass loop, since I don't much else room on my pedal board.

Now gassing for a compressor and an octaver in the same format. Something vaguely like an OC-2 (growly) but without the -2 octave frequency would do very nicely
Anyone else interested in an octaver from Max ? Not sure I can afford to go the custom route, but I'd buy a 'production' one, for sure.

I received my Micro Thumpinator the other day. I performed a test like the one in the video on the SFX site. It surely works. Thanks Max! Really interested in the custom shop pedal you mentioned to me in your last email.

That is is a lot of gain in so little pedal space. Suck it up and just e-mail max. You never know. He might not charge an arm and a leg if it is a pedal idea that could easily appeal to other buyers.
after seeing many micro thumpinators on pedalboards on this site I finally looked into what they are.. and after seeing what it does and the posts about it, I NOW WANT ONE!

I have been researching my options for an overdrive pedal and I think I am set on Max's modded version of the Bad Monkey. I was looking for something to use with my tele, but could pull double-duty with my bass. The bass and mid.control mods seem like the perfect icing on the Monkey cake.
Also, my Micro Screaminator custom order is slowly making its away to top the top of Max's build queue. Think of it as the ultimate speaker simulator and with an absolute cut-off...preserving my bass fuzz sounds even through a PA.

Just last week I recieved an H1 from Max. Very nice unit. Sleek, compact, feels sturdy all about. The cans I use is a set of Grado SR60s; certainly not the best on the market, but they do fine enough. My bass has great clarity and music input through the aux is very full and smooth. The output has absolutely no harsh high end to it. It's great fun to use.
