That hassle, the way you describe it, is a standard part of operation on the original EB-3 but in reverse. Sounds interesting (am I a musical masochist?).

I'm not usually a fan of black hardware, but this oddly works for me.

How does the mm style sound on it? Looks like its right up against the bridge.

Got a epi eb0 and so far only done the usual bridge swap out. Have wondered how an mm style pickup would sound instead of the usual minibucker near the bridge.

Dont mind if doesnt sound good together with neck pickup as i plan on toggling between 2 not necessarily mixing.

So I hadn't played this bass in a while, So I got it out and took it out to play last night. It has a cheap neck that doesn't flatten out, a cheap plywood Epiphone body, and a modified Rickenbacker humbucker in the neck and a cheap ebay stingray pickup in the bridge. The pots are all 500k ohm except for the bridge pickup tone pot is 1000k ohms. It is wired like a Rickenbacker. The neck pickup has a toggle for single, series, parallel operation. I put my DIY straplok extender on the bass to kill neck dive. The scale is 34". I made my own pickguard with yellowed pearloid. It is a cheap frankensteined bass, but it looks cool and it has killed tone. The stingray bridge cover the 3 big holes for the original bridge.

Actually I think that bridge looks perfectly at home on that bass, it really carries the shape of the body, much more so than a rectangular Fender style bridge would have done. Well played sir!

Love the "feel" of my SG bass!

Sadly, I'm not a big fan of the "fake" "MudBucker." The T-Bird+ p'up leaves a lot to be desired (compared to my Hofners and Ricks).

I have a Kent Armstrong "Toaster" p'up I'm NOT using elsewhere, and I'm considering using it in the SG neck position... I LOVE this p'up in my v63!!! I also have a pair ear-marked for a custom Strat-O-Bass build currently waiting assembly...

Any comments re utilizing a "toaster" in the SG???

If it's the same size as the original Ric "toaster" it should fit under the cover and it has - to my understanding - been done before. Given the position of the pickup it would likely sound great.

Do bear in mind that I've never done this swap myself and am simply going by what I've read elsewhere, so proceed (or not) with caution.
