SG & EB Bass Club

Cool, but it's not the same neck used on the black bass. What strings are you using, and how flat is the neck? Oh, and I just noticed that that's an 8 string. A 10 string will add about 80lbs of tension. I'm not convinced that a single truss rod neck will take that much tension.

Dane …

You know me …

For years I have been doing what can't be done …

I have been putting extra string on basses for years and people like you have been telling me that I am doing it wrong …

Have you noticed it never stops me …

it is more like a challenge …

so I say hey hold my beer and watch this …

Remember this is not my first rodeo …

I have 15 basses that all have more strings than they are supposed to have and I have built and customized dozens more for others …

all together close to a hundred basses …

only one had a neck too weak for the strings … and that one came from the factory with 5 strings … The Edsel bass ...

Jeff....That 4004C5 is not a good example. Paul W. had to replace a body wing to restore it and make it right. 400lbs is a LOT of tension for a neck designed for 200lbs. If you're going to build a 10 string, then see if someone builds a dual truss rod neck. Why take chances with a single truss rod neck?

Do you even own a SG / EB bass or do you follow me around on the internet to troll me to argue with me.

Surely you have something better to do than to keep over and over disagreeing with me.

Be a gentleman and keep you arguments off of this forum and communicate with me privately.

It's here! I should've paid more attention on the reverb page and asked for a picture of the back.

Over all though I'm pretty happy with it though. I'm gonna be taking it to the luthiers tomorrow for an inspection, cleanup, and see if they can't bring the bridge pickup back into play
