I purchased a Hipshot Supertone bridge for my Epiphone EB0 and I must say it really helps with sustain and the tone. The notes are much clearer. I got mine Matt black to match the Dimarzio Pickup
I'm on the fence about ordering a custom SG EB-0 21" scale from a builder in China. He says they can do it to my specs for $320 shipped. I'm concerned that the size is not going to be correct, that he's just saying he will, but it might end up being full 34" scale.
I went ahead and ordered the SG bass from China, but changed the scale to 22" and color to green flame. It's on it's way.
I just got likes for these two posts and made me wonder if I ever updated the story, even if I did, here it is. The green custom from China was crap, so I stripped it for parts. Then about a year ago I found Bryan Fanner out of South Africa who made me a custom 22.8" using African mahogany. He also hand made the pickup so it would be proportional to this sub-short scale. It took much longer than he thought, but after all was said and done, it came out really nice. It cost $800 including shipping.
I added the stick-on fret markers, including on the truss rod cover, that compliment the look of the SG horns. All I have to do now is decide how I'm going to accommodate the Gold Tone/La Bella 25" flatwounds I like, probably have Eric's Guitar add string through holes, and if necessary, an anchor on the back.

I've got an Epiphone EB0 too and I love it. I've already got a Dimarzio pickup on mine and have now ordered a black hipshot bridge on the strength of your comments.
The bridge costs more than the entire EB0 when I bought it, but it's a love thing isn't it?

I love the adjustability and look of this bridge. It just makes this bass so much better. You won't regret it
I've fitted my hipshot bridge now too, only took five minutes with a towel tied over the loosened strings.
I'm having a bit of trouble getting intonation right as the bridge may be set up more easily on a full scale EB3.
The springs seem to be compressed too much when trying to adjust for sharpness.
Did you have an issue El Pelusa? I may have to take the springs out.
But, the bass sounds clearer though. I did quite like the muddy sound if truth be told.
Did you raise the pole pieces on the Dimarzio pickup too?

Hey yes I did have an issue getting the saddles back with the springs. I ended up getting it set up by my tech. I really love what it's done to the looks and tone.
And yeah I raised my pole pieces. I like my basses real hot
I tried to this too, but I could not shift the pole pieces with the allen key. So I left them alone!
I also had a problem with the string tension pulling the mounting threads in the guitar body out so I've used some heavy duty araldite to glue them back in.
I've got to wait 14 hours before tensioning the strings again.

As others have said, make sure the bridge is higher at the front than at the back. This will cause the string tension to push the studs down into the body, instead of pulling up.
I appreciate your advice thanks ctmullins. The only problem is that the Hipshot bridge works best if it is flat against the guitar body. There is no provision for raising the front of the bridge unlike the old three point bridge that I have just taken off.
So far, after glueing the dowels back into the body with heavy duty araldite, the bridge has not lifted.
I'm not sure if the pole pieces are meant to be adjusted on the Dimarzio Model 1 pickup, as they seem to be totally immovable in my case. I used a fair bit of muscle with the Allen key and the key started to flex slightly (!) so I gave up. I might have to consider using a shim to raise the pickup to the strings slightly.
