The bass is an Epiphone. I’m a big SIT fan, maybe I’ll grab a set of Foundations for it. I should clarify, Boomers have been my latest go-to on my other basses. Haven’t tried anything aside from the Slinkys on this one.

Part of the issue with the A string’s height is the extra winding at the base is sitting on the saddle, raising it a bit above the rest.
So far, my favorite sound is both pickups, volumes & tones dimed. If I back off either pickup’s volume at all, it almost completely goes away. Gonna check the wiring, if it’s good, I’ll probably convert it to MV/MT.
The neck has already been deglossed, but I’m gonna have to hit it a little more aggressively. All my maple necked instruments get stripped and oil/waxed, but I’m reluctant to do that to mahogany.
