It was a Craigslist score about 8-9 years ago. I bought it from a younger dude that was raising funds for a Fender. He told me he was the second owner and only used it for some recording. The first owner doesn't seem to have gigged much with it either. If at all. It does have a chip missing out of the treble side of the headstock. I'm sure it would be an easy fix for a luthier, but I've never gotten around to getting it done.
It's never easy to give up a bass, but passing them now to your kid has got to take away some of the sting. Nothing cooler than sharing a love of music in general and a love of bass specifically.
My 2018 Epi EB-0 goes down as one of the best playing EB/SG basses I've had, since 1970. I'm not saying I haven't had some decent Gibson EB's or SG Std.'s, but not quite like this Epi EB-0, with it's 1.5" nut. I don't mind having the bolt on neck either, if having to do rests, or repairs.

I have often said, if my Epiphone EB-0(h!) was my ONLY bass, I'd be okay with that. Easily the best value bass guitar made today...truly a fantastic instrument for any player!
I bought my used '09 Epi EB-0 as a mostly backup bass a coupla years ago. Still experimenting-occasionally-with different strings(DTF's now-except for E). Easy player, great for tight stages. Once I get the right string figgered out, it'll get more play time.

Well, today was new bass day. I traded my 4003 for an SG Standard and I'm really happy. Can't wait for band practice to take it for a test drive.

What exactly isn't quite right with that E string? What brands have you gone through, so far?
The DTF E was sorta dead. I put a used EBCF E on it and it-the bass-came to life.
IDK what was on it when I got it. Some kind of RW(ugh!). I had put the EBCFs on it, but they were pretty well used up, so I bought the DTFs. The E lacked cojones. I dug out the EBCF E which I s'pose still has life in it.

Well, I'm a one finger typist. To cut down on mistakes I hafta proofread, go back, and correct, I use some abbreviations that are known-generally-on TB. But-to clarify-Deep Talkin' Bass; Ernie Ball Cobalt Flats; Round Wound(strings-which I hate).You must've been writing that in a hurry!
Also, the word "cojones" is a terrific Spanish term meaning...um,...uh,...cojones.

This pic reminds me the SG shape was my 1st love, still have the Ibanez lawsuit SG I bought as a 15 yo, 45 years ago. Might get me one of those bass SGs one day.
