Shameless plug for gig (girl band)

Well, the show went really well... packed bar, played really well, fudged some lyrics but no one could tell lol. It was my first show since I've had (2) 4x12s and needless to say no one had a problem hearing the bass! But yeah it went really well. Lots of compliments saying we're so much better than with the old singer. Not that that's my goal, but it's nice to hear. So yeah, it went well.

The joke was- what's the difference between a cheeseburger and a boner? I don't have a cheeseburger right now. It went over very well lol.

best of luck! looking at your set list, you seem to have a pretty much rock vibe, but glad to see some Aretha and Soft Cell. If you you are looking for other tunes, may I suggest Aretha's version of Eleanor Rigby (here's my group doing it a few years ago: Cantus Michael Jones tenor - YouTube ), it might be a good fit, I've always been interested what Superstition might sound like in a girl's voice, and I also recommend tunes by Sing-Sing.

runmikeyrun - LOL re: the power stance. I'll have to remember that! (My shoulder gets sore as it is, my Marcus Miller is a seriously heavy bass). I will definitely post how the gig went - I'm so excited and nervous!

skwee - thanks for the suggestion. We are always looking for new songs to add. Your group sounds great - all those male vocalists really give the sound an unusual depth.

E.J. T.N.T. - Thanks for wishing us luck! LOL, re: guys loving being in a girl band. We tried to get our guitarist to don a wig and skirt for the gig, but he wouldn't go for it. :(

Re: Competing for female fans, I'm thinking having some hot lesbians or bi-sexual fans in the audience would be a blast... :)

Thanks for checking in guys! Sorry to take so long to post this - I was waiting to get the video on youtube to post a link. Gig was an absolute blast! Both the singer and I had this horrible cold - (you can see me sucking on cough drops during the show, I was trying to keep from hacking the whole time...) Jessica's voice was pretty raspy, but she came through like a rock star. She couldn't hit a few of the higher notes because of her cold, but she didn't let it throw her for a second. She was great with the crowd. The crowd was awesome, place was packed. Ton of fun. We had a few little technical glitches - lights at one point went out, singers mike stopped working - but the band we were opening for fixed it within seconds and it was all good. We really couldn't have asked for a better first gig. We were all very comfortable on stage, maybe because the crowd was so engaged and supportive. And I didn't freeze like I was afraid I would. Yay!
The whole thing was nothing short of magical.
