that's a lot of Bubinga... but it is gorgeous. I really like the "Sheridan" stamped (is it stamped?) on the bridge, very cool.

So my seven year-old came in and asked what i was doing. Said I was clamping on a fretboard and showed him how the truss rod works. Anyway, he asked to do some clamping. I agreed. We got it all clamped up and... I put him to bed.

Twenty minutes later... Did that board shift?
Sure enough, it did. But I was able to unclamp and get it realigned.

So be warned. Always double check, and always let your kids take part.

So this bass has finally been completed, save for one knob. I made a few changes with this build. Its chambered, the heel has been redesigned a bit and I've finally gotten the look I was after in the scarf joint. The Fat Stacks with a Coil Tap are tasty, i must say. One of these days I'll get to that last knob.

Beautiful. What I really like is the black veneer layer as an accent line and the gorgeous neck wwod on the Bubinga. Ash body is really handsome, very nice work but I have developed an irrational aversion to wooden knobs. I can't explain it but I hate them as much as wooden pickup covers. Reminds me when my parents bought an 'antique-look' cabinet to hide the television in. They need to face up to technology and embrace it, not hide it or pretend it does not exist. Enough gorgeous wood in the neck and body to satisfy my lust. Great work.
