Shipping basses during cold or hot climates

Is there a temperature threshold for when it's best not to order a bass guitar online when it comes to extreme climates and the concern that either too cold or too hot temperature might be detrimental to the bass guitar neck? I am thinking about ordering a bass online but I am concerned that the weather is getting colder. I live near Washington D.C. and the bass would ship from California. More concerned about the bass sitting in a cold UPS or FedEx warehouse. Please let me know your thoughts.

I'm not aware of any set temperatures, it's usually humidity that causes neck movement, and that can be fixed with a tweak or two. In my experience, high humidity causes the neck to back bow, low more forward. I think the flexibility of the neck and the truss rod could handle it, but I don't know if it would move that much anyway.
