I Saw a base on eBay the base cost $210 but it was a neat looking base thought I could upgrade it so the base was $210
The shipping cost was $579
*** ?
I thought it was a mistake so I messaged the seller and asked him if that was correct
$579 to ship a Bass that cost $210
So I sent him another message and said I live 15 mi away from you how much would the shipping cost be ? cuz I don't drive
The shipping was still $579
LOL.

Welcome to 2023.
I snuck in some gear purchases in April ly. $50 shipping on the head and cabs shipped free. All were new. Mix of reverb and direct dealer orders.
I bought a nice new modern rig for a total then of $2297 plus $50 shipping…now you’re looking at $3197 plus shipping for the same rig. Not mentioning the brand but that’s insane.

I live in Pennsylvania and I wanted to ship a banjo that weighed somewhere around 8 lbs to North Carolina
.UNTIL I found out the shipping cost was over 1000.00 dollars.
I don't know anyone that would be so fn dumb
to go ahead and pay that !

It's a joy - my kids buy stuff on DePop and other cater-to-the-kids marketplaces and we have to watch the shipping very carefully. Once she bought an old band t-shirt for a great price but shipping was $20. When it arrived, it came in a standard package envelope from the post office, that I'm aware was only $12. They're making some money on the shipping too - everyone's gotta be a millionaire nowadays. :D

Lol my kid has made so much money on debop selling old goodwill finds.
