Short scale 4-string basses - Brice AL vs. Hagstrom HB-4

I am interested in getting one or the other. The Brice (Rondo) is hefty at 11#, the HB-4 (Adirondack) is two pounds lighter. Has anyone had any experience preferably with both? The Brice seems to get good reviews for such an inexpensive bass. The HB-4 I can't find squat on (It's about a hundred bucks more). I am a lefty so my choices for a LH short scale are few. I already have the Ibanez Mikro. I was hoping to get something a little better. Thanks.

You're right, Floyd, neither brand sells lefty Jags. I'm also a lefty looking around for another bass and am down to the Squier VM Jazz ($329) and one of the lecture from Rondo. I'd like to know more about the Brice AL ($325), but all I've read is it's muddy and gets lost in the mix. Have you heard anything else?

What about picking up one of Rondo's Beatle basses and flipping it over? You shouldn't have to, but it was good enough for Hendrix, right?

Wait, just went back to Rondo. They have the Beatle in lefty as well as the short Jag. Not to mention a pink P for under $100. Probably more lefties than righties there!

The hagstrom would be a much better made bass imo.

I'll go with the HB-4, because of its features like H-expander truss rod, dual bridge and custom pickups.

If you want the Hagstrom HB4 in lefty, Adirondack is the only that I know who carries and they (the last time I checked) had one left in red. I put a deposit down on a black.
